What started as a small seaside saloon in 1974 became something much more. When Gerry “Geddy” Mitchell took over, he transformed it into a lively Bar Harbor destination—known in the ’70s and early ’80s for its energy, character, live entertainment, and unforgettable nights.
Over the years, Geddy’s welcomed legendary performers like Bonnie Raitt, Wynton Marsalis, Taj Mahal, Pure Prairie League, Arlo Guthrie, Livingston Taylor, and Los Lobos—along with generations of locals and visitors who came for the atmosphere and the experience.
In 1987, Arthur and Heather carried that spirit forward—helping shape Geddy’s into the iconic Bar Harbor restaurant it is today.

It’s a place where families gather, locals return generation after generation, and visitors come back year after year.
What was once the dingiest part of the seaside saloon is now a bright welcoming space—home to “Geddy’s Down-Under,” for unique gifts and “Geddy’s By The Sea,” an upscale boutique right next door.
